Even though the most common form of Jasper is the red Jasper, here, the word, yashepheh, most likely refers to the green, the rarer and more costly form of this stone. According to some interpretations, Jasper was the stone of the Benjamin tribe of Israel. The book of Revelations, chapter 21:11, says, “It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal”.

In the tradition of some Native American tribes, Jasper was a stone of the rainmakers. Today, it is believed that Jasper helps the dowsers find underground water.

Jasper is believed to extend sexual pleasure and treat impotence and frigidity. It stops bleeding, protects against wound infections, regulates the digestive system, and cures the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and spleen.

Jasper should be discharged every 20 days. It should be charged in the company of Rock crystals. One of the ways of charging can also be putting it near some indoor potted flowers. Being such an energetic stone, charging with sun’s energy is not recommended.

Brown Jasper conveys the Earth energy. If you look for grounding and more balance and stability this might be a good stone for you. It's good for the skin, liver, and kidneys.
