If your office is like most other people's, it is likely difficult for you to maintain a healthy diet. People are constantly bringing in tasty treats that are loaded with sugar, fat and calories. You may start the day thinking you are going to hold out, but by the time 3:00 rolls around and your energy levels are crashing, resisting temptation can be very difficult.
So what are you supposed to do if you are trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy lifestyle? If you have the privilege, working from home may be one of the easiest solutions. However, not everyone is lucky enough to have that option. If you are in the latter group, developing strategies to proactively deal with the temptations of your office may be needed.
One thing you can do is be sure to always have some healthy, filling snacks on hand. Experts have suggested that foods containing higher levels of fiber may be more filling. This serves a double purpose, because fiber also happens to be extremely nutritious. Therefore, you can improve your health while you are filling up and avoiding temptations.
Lots of foods contain high amounts of fiber and can easily be brought into the office. Baby carrots, apples and nuts are all great sources of fiber. Just one serving of any one of these foods can help a person fill up and avoid feeling like they need to eat again for quite some time. Best of all, they are loaded with other nutrients that will help support health.
For example, apples also have high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols. These nutrients have been shown to play an important role in supporting the health of your cardiovascular system. Nuts are generally good sources of protein and healthy fats, while carrots are among the best food sources of vitamin A.
Another good way to avoid the temptation to overindulge at the office is to make sure you keep your energy levels up. When you become tired, your body's reaction is to seek carbs and simple sugars. This may provide a short-term energy boost, but it will just leave you feeling low in the long run. A proactive approach is what you really need.
To ensure you stay energized throughout the day, put down the coffee. Instead, make sure you are fully hydrated throughout the day. Becoming dehydrated can make a person feel sluggish. Another way to keep your energy up is to make sure you eat a good breakfast. It's known as the most important meal of the day for a reason, even though many people decide to simply skip it. However, this results in an energy deficit that can be hard to come back from.
When people bring sweets into the office they typically are only trying to do a thoughtful thing. However, they may not realize that they are putting their coworkers in a difficult situation. You can avoid falling prey to this dietary pitfall with a little determination and planning.

Coffee is not necessarily bad. Especially in the morning where it can provide a lot of energy. But, and this is really big but, it has to come from a high quality source. It also has to be a good blend and organic, because traditional coffee is heavily sprayed with chemicals and tends to be contaminated with mycotoxins. The only downside of coffee some people especially stress is Caffeine. It is a stimulant of the nervous system. and a psychoactive drug, but it has a lot of positive effects too. Caffeine improves learning and can even relieve migraines. For sure coffee is one of the most easy brain hacks for increased performance ever. So if you can find the right type and stay away from the junk blends, I wouldn't so easily discard coffee, especially if used in moderation.

Thanks xam. If I may ask, what coffee blends do you recommend?
