Nothing stands between you and your highest ideals, between you and every desire of your heart. Nothing but doubt and fear.
All people are plagued with various fears: fear of other people, fear of ignorance, fear of showing weakness, fear of failure, fear of simplicity, fear of looking foolish, fear of submission, etc.
Some fears are less visible than others, but they all equally badly influence all of us. Some of the more common fears include fear of death (death anxiety), fear of pain, fear of being ill (hypochondriasis), existential fear, and other numerous subjective fears.
In reality, fear is nothing but faith, turned upside down. Fear is belief in a bad outcome, instead of a good outcome.
In fact, things are very simple; all it takes is to replace fear with faith, to deepen your faith in God.
Spiritual insight obtained through meditation, enlightenment, and contemplation wipes out all fears, leaving behind just a single fear: a fear of failing to comply with the Sweet God's Will. If that happens, one loses the abundance of God's spiritual and material gifts. These gifts come in a form of knowledge, wisdom, powers, and talents.
As far as this last fear is concerned, it is not rally fear. It is a realization that there is nothing better for us in this Universe, nothing better than what has already been destined for us by the Divine providence.
Our life's horizons are expanding or contracting depending on how much fear we have managed to overcome.
So, release the sun trapped inside of you. Silence the inner voice that tells you "I can't".
Listen to what your heart is whispering to you.
Imagine the brand new story of the rest of your life and start living it. The secret of successful transformation is focusing all your energy on building the new, rather than fighting the old.
Your Higher Self, God in you, should be the focus of your undivided attention, all the time, whatever you do. Otherwise you won't be able to receive signals, insight, and images about the important aspects of your life.
It is up to you whether you are going to live in fear or not. Do everything you can to resist being overwhelmed with fear. If that happens despite your efforts, fight against the waves of negative energy, use your will power, breathe deeply, and reach the shore of peace.
Don't feed your fear.
This world can be a dangerous place, no question about it. It can be filled with a lot of challenges and temptations that you can associate with fear.
For example, you may be afraid of losing something. Or you may feel fear of uncertain future, or you may even be worried how other people see you. In all these cases be aware that these fears don't come from God. They represent a form of temptation.
And here are some tips as to how to overcome your fears.
If you are unsure what tomorrow brings, you have to cultivate faith in a positive outcome in the future. Your faith and firm decision will mitigate your fears. Therefore, always have faith in God and His Divine plan for you.
Try to recall a past event where things seemed miserable, but eventually they turned out to be entirely in your favor. Rest assured that everything that's happening to you is not directed against you. It is happening exactly for you, either as a lection, or in order to strengthen you and help develop your inner potential.
Dalai Lama once said: “If you have fear of some pain or suffering, you should examine whether there is anything you can do about it. If you can, there is no need to worry about it; if you cannot do anything, then there is also no need to worry. ”
Accept that you have very little control over most of the things and situations in your life. Of course, it doesn't mean that you don't have to make practical decisions, like leading a healthy and sound life. However, despite all your efforts, life always seems to have its own dynamics.
For example, you are unable to control what other people think about you. You cannot prevent or prepare for all possible outcomes. So, the best you can do is to accept what's happening right now.
Moreover, rejoice about everything that life is bringing you right now. Actively seek and gratefully accept the beauty of the present moment.
The more you think about something bad, the more you make a habit out of it. The plasticity of your brain is very high, and whatever it is that you repeat time and again, you make stronger.
So please, do everything you can to break that circle of fear based thinking.
For example, you can do that by:
Gratitude is the best tool for dealing with fear of all tools in your toolbox. It can dissolve fear as if by magic. And not only fear.
The more gratitude you have the less space there is for anger, envy, greed, and other egoistic tendencies.
So, whenever you feel like fear is going to creep in, try to recall a little thing that makes you very grateful.
In the following, you can find a simple technique that you can use every day even before fear appears.
1. This practice doesn't take more than a couple of minutes every day. When you wake up in the morning, and before you leave your room, get into a short meditation and remember a little something you can be grateful about.
2. A good idea is to look around at the beauty that surrounds you. It can be a ray of the morning sun, or a gentle breeze upon your cheek, or a glass of pure crystal clear water.
3. Close your eyes and think how magical things are and how privileged you are to enjoy them. We take for granted many things in our lives, only to become aware how special they are when we lose them. Because of that, learn to be grateful in time, up front, and even for the smallest things.
4. Be grateful to God for your loved ones, for their health, and for every precious and dear person that surrounds you. Feel your deep connection with them, feel their presence that fills up your heart.
The above is an excerpt from the book "Light Up the Light in Your Heart" by Olga Rezo.
Too much self-centered attitude, you see, brings, you see, isolation. Result: loneliness, fear, anger. The extreme self-centered attitude is the source of suffering. ~Dalai Lama
Fear: False Evidence Appearing Real. ~Unknown
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. ~Frank Herbert
